Welcome to Hamilton SystemsHamilton Systems specializes in mission critical, enterprise class vehicle tracking systems. With a background in Emergency Medical Services, Hamilton Systems designed and built one of the few GPS tracking systems available to offer second-by-second vehicle tracking. While most competitors advertise "real-time" tracking, rarely does this translate to position updates more frequent than every minute or two. Emergency ServicesPolice, Fire, and EMS agencies know how crucial time is when responding to an incident. In just a matter of seconds a fire can grow to a first alarm, or a chest pain patient can progress to a full arrest. For this reason, a rapid tracking rate is paramount in orchestrating the fastest possible response. Because Hamilton Systems GPS Tracking updates by the second, dispatchers are able to follow crews turn-by-turn throughout their response. Should a vehicle take a wrong turn, dispatch will be able to take corrective action immediately, as opposed to minutes later. The CompetitionIn most competing products, vehicle positions are typically reported every 2 to 5 minutes. When viewing a Hamilton Systems GPS unit on a map, the dispatcher can actually see the vehicle as it enters intersections and makes lane changes. The competion on the other hand, would show a vehicle icon "jump" from one location to another every minute (or every couple minute). In other words, first responders using a system with 1 minute updates may potentially wander off course by that minute before dispatch can act. This can add up to two minutes to the response (one minute to get off course plus another minute to back-track). IntegrationIn addition to the fast tracking rate, Hamilton Systems beats the competition with "out of the box" integration to third party software such at Google Earth, RescueNet Dispatch, Google Maps, and Yahoo Maps to name a few. Also, because Hamilton Systems exposes an API (application programming interface), customers are free to add GPS tracking with minimal effort to their existing CAD, GIS, website, or incident management system. Mobile DataHamilton Systems GPS Tracking can monitor a cornucopia of additional parameters such as speed, direction of travel, Code 3 operation, battery status, or engine hours. Two-way messaging and in-cab navigation is currently in development and expected to be released by the 3rd quarter of 2009. History LoggingIn addition to the real-time tracking and monitoring, position histories are recorded and saved on the customer's network for retrieval at any time. Routes and vehicle status can be recalled and reviewed from any computer using Google Earth. Additionally, because the database is stored and managed at the customer site, they are able to access their data using Crystal Reports or other third party software. |
